“Almost Famous” will play its final performance on Jan. 8, 2023.
The new musical began previews on Oct. 3 and opened on Nov. 3 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Upon closing, it will have played 30 preview and 77 regular performances.
The new musical, which received its world premiere at The Old Globe in San Diego in 2019, has a book by Cameron Crowe, who wrote and directed the 2000 film of the same name, music lyrics by Tom Kitt and lyrics by Crowe and Kitt. “Almost Famous” is directed by Jeremy Herrin and choreographed by Sarah O’Gleby.
The cast includes Chris Wood, Anika Larsen, Solea Pfeiffer, Drew Gehling, Casey Likes, Rob Colletti, Matt Bittner, Chad Burris, Gerard Canonico, Julia Cassandra, Brandon Contreras, Jakeim Hart, Van Hughes, Jana Djenne Jackson, Katie Ladner, Danny Lindgren, Erica Mansfield, Alisa Melendez, Emily Schultheis, Daniel Sovich, Libby Winters and Matthew C. Yee.
The design team includes Derek McLane (scenic design), David Zinn (costume design), Natasha Katz (lighting design) and Peter Hylenski (sound design). Sue Wagner, John Johnson, Jillian Robbins and Devin Keudell are executive producers, with Bespoke Theatricals serving as general manager.
“Almost Famous” is produced on Broadway by Lia Vollack and Michael Cassel.
